4-Wheeler Poop

Weird title, I know. This is not a gross story, so those with weak stomachs may continue to read!

2 weeks ago Gavin decided he wanted to go potty. We've always talked about it, and he has a potty chair, but I figured it would be a long time still and I wasn't going to push it. Well, I was getting him ready for bed one night, and he informed me he needed to go potty. Right...I thought. So I undressed him, and took him in the bathroom and set him on the toilet. He then said, "Buh-bye." Okay, so I backed out of the room and stayed close just in case this was going to end up with him in the toilet or something. Next thing I know, there is a little tinkle, tinkle sound coming from the bathroom!!! I was SOOOOOO proud, and well, sort of in shock! The next 2 days he continued to go and would sometimes tells me and other times I would just ask him and he said yep and went.

Well, he sort of decided he wasn't into it for a few days, and then started up again, but he WAS NOT about to poop on the potty. He would ask for a diaper and REFUSE to go near the bathroom. So we started bribing him with a 4 wheeler ride with Grandpa if he would go. This sort of backfired and Gav would just walk around telling everyone "4 Wheeler Poop." I was a bit embarrassed, but whatever. Then all of the sudden today he decided this was the day. He said, "Mom, poop, help." Again...I was speechless. He was SOOOOOO proud of himself and we had to make an unplanned trip to Grandpa's to go on the much promised 4 wheeler ride! He was very excited!

We're not all the way there on this potty training thing, but we are well on our way! And I am THRILLED that it happened like a year earlier than I had even hoped for! Way to go, Gav! What a big boy!

What a cute story!! That will be fun to tell his future wife. Asher just potty trained himself about a week ago. He doesn't even wet the bed and I am so relieved. YEA we don't have to buy diapers anymore!! With all the diaper money we will be saving I think us moms deserve something special...shoes? Oh yes shoes.

That's awesome! Especially nice when it is there idea! We are in the trenches of potty training over here and I'm 3 for 3 with children that are completely scared to go #2 on the potty! ??? Go figure! Maybe I'll have to have Gavin teach Connor a thing or two about how to do it and that it's not scary at all! Maybe I'll need to use Gavin's Grandpa as a cool bribe, because my bribes aren't working!
