To grandmother's house we go....

Last week Gavin and I went to visit my mom and Alan when they got back from Hawaii. Gavin always LOVES going to Grandma's house, and was practicing saying "Grandma Kim" and "Grandpa Alan" on the way down there. He has so many grandmas and grandpas, I'm trying to help him distinguish who is who. I think he's getting it. Anyway, we had a really fun day, and ended up having an impromptu sleepover (because I wanted to watch American Idol and not drive home so late...lame, I know). Gavin enjoyed riding his motorcycle, but he's not so hot at steering it yet, so it's a little bit of work for me!!!

He also thought he needed to get some sun on his legs with Aunt Chelsea....HILARIOUS! He had to lean back just like her and everything!

Enjoying some grandpa time....he DID NOT want to sit by mommy, but he sure loved Grandpa!

Gav is also learning how to make faces...he's got Happy, Sad and Surprised here. He learned Mad today, but I don't have a picture.
And this is what happens when neither Uncle Austin or Gavin has had a nap....

Coming Soon...

With the beautiful weather on Saturday and the promise of good weather this week, we decided it was time to get the tomatoes in! I always get so excited at the beginning of "planting season". It doesn't take me too long to remember how NOT GOOD I am at gardening, but oh well. Every year it's my goal to do better, so I'm holding out for this being the year. Besides....I have the best little helper now!

Birthday Boy...

I can't believe my little guy is already 2! I think he had a good birthday, and the celebration isn't over! My mom and Alan went to Hawaii so we went to an early birthday dinner with them. Then Gav has had some fun with a friend and cousin at Jungle Jim's playland and this evening he will be having cake and ice cream with "Bumpa" and "mama Amy" and the crew (Pictures to follow). Here are just a few shots of my sweet little guy having fun and being silly....

When I grow up...

On conference Sunday I was making rolls between sessions to take to my mother in law's for dinner. Gavin LOVES to help me make bread, which mostly means he wants to try and eat the dough....I had already started making it when he realized what I was doing and ran and got his step stool. Then he opened the pantry and kept saying something about Grandpa. I could not for the life of me figure out what he was saying so I went and looked. He wanted to wear an apron like Grandpa. Gavin has apparently been to see my dad at the Purple Turtle one too many times!

Why do I always feel like I am walking on eggshells?

Oh, maybe because I am! Gavin LOVES to eat hard-boiled eggs. He will eat eggs any way you give them to him, but he mostly loves them hardboiled. He loves to help me get the eggs out and put them in the egg cooker and push the button. He is finally starting to understand that we have to wait for them to cook. We used to just have to listen to him cry about "eggys" for 15 minutes until they were done! His new found joy is in the actual peeling of the egg. This is very unfortunate for me and my floor and CONSTANT sweeping! Oh well, he's learning, having fun, and actually eating something healthy!
