Hair no more...

So, I finally got Gav's haircut today. Dear, sweet Carlie did it and he looks so grown up and cuter than ever! I really miss his curls, but seeing as how they did not come back and I just kept growing his hair waiting for them to....well, I've resigned myself to the fact that I no longer have a sweet, curly haired little boy! But look what I do get......

Sleep when you're dead...

Gav did not have a great night last night....or rather, early this morning. It has thus made him, shall we say, a bit GRUMPY today! He was whiney and just a pain this morning. Luckily we got out of the house and went to the mall with Carlie and the kids and that helped. He zonked out on the way home and then wasn't asleep for very long and the doorbell (or rather, the barking dog because of the doorbell) woke him up. He did not stop crying and I could not figure out for the life of me what he wanted. The only thing that made him stop crying was to hold him and stare into the pantry. He didn't want any food though. We just had to stand there. I have a very low tolerance for just standing around (sitting is another story) so I quickly put a stop to that. I sat him down on the recliner in his room and told him he could cry there until he was done...that was just fine with me. I know, it sounds a bit harsh, but I didn't sleep well either and it's been a long day. Well, shortly thereafter he stopped crying and I thought he was just sitting there. I walked by his room and this is what I found.....

Yes, he really is asleep!

Big Boy Pants and Yogurt

Saturday night I was sitting at the computer and Gavin comes in like this....

I couldn't figure out for the life of me how he put on big boy pants over his diaper, especially since his pants weren't all the way off and he couldn't have put his own shoes on! Then I remembered, Keith got him dressed and must have put the big boy pants on him. How could I have forgotten that I didn't dress him? Oh, maybe because it's the first time Keith has had to do that in like, I don't know, FOREVER! Needless to say, it was pretty cute, but I could have done with out the yog-yo (how Gav says yogurt) that was dripped all over the carpet!
And speaking of carpet....(Carlie, WARNING, this is a throw up story)...Gav wasn't feeling too hot the other night when we went bowling for Jaxon's birthday. He sort of had a little spit-up/throw-up so we cut it short. Right when we got home I got Gav's coat off and he just had this look and I knew what was coming. I quickly pulled him into me (because let's face it, I can shower, my carpet can't...) and, well, you can guess the next part, no need for the gory details. Now, why am I telling you a throw-up story? For this very cute reason. Afterwards, Gav looks at me, starts to cry, and says, "Mama, I spilled..." He was SOOOOOO upset that he had "spilled". How cute is that? Well, it's a lot cuter now than when I needed that shower.... :) He's fine now, woke up the next day, happy as a clam!

Potty Break

I had Gavin in the bathtub tonight and since I had already cleaned the bathroom today I decided to just chill and read a magazine while I was in there. Naturally there is only one "chair" in there so of course that's where I was sitting. My handsome little guy is very interested in going "potty" and I am all for encouraging it. He is starting to tell me when he goes or is going to go. So he's in the tub and says "Mom, potty!" I'm pretty sure he's already gone in the tub, but he likes to sit on his little potty chair. I get him out and sit him down and he asks, "Story?". I then realize he wants my magazine. I gave it to him and literally RAN for my camera! He's such a little character and loves to imitate what others are doing.

Happy Birthday, Tay

This was a post meant for yesterday, but seeing as how the sun is not up yet....we'll just say it counts! Yesterday was my sister Taylor's birthday! I can't believe how quickly she is growing up. It seems like just yesterday I was asking her animal sounds and now she is doing that to my son! Taylor can always make me smile and laugh. She is infectiously happy and VERY giggley. She is kind and honest and very smart. Every year for her birthday I used to take her to Build-A-Bear. She's a little too grown up now, but I'm grateful to have had those memories with her. Happy Birthday, Tay! We love you!

This picture is a little old, but I love it of her!

"Hi, Toots!"

Gavin woke up from his nap today calling for me. I love that instead of laying there screaming and crying, he now calls, "Mama!" It's so much more fun to go get my happy little boy up instead of a grumpy one that takes forever to snap out of it.

Well today Gav called for Mama and I went to go get him. Keith has so very lovingly named me "Toots" (Not like toot, but sounds more like tootsie without the ie) and lately Gavin will repeat him when he calls for me. I thought it was pretty funny that Gavin would repeat him and it's pretty darn cute when he says it. So when I walk into his room today and he yells (and I mean YELLS), "Hey, Toots!" all on his own, I about fell on the floor laughing! That was one of the last things I expected him to say. Usually we have to start prompting him to get him to say it. Not only did I get that funny thing to laugh at, I got this cute little dishelved boy......
