We're #1!!!

I have a friend, we'll just call her Jeri P., who has informed me that I participate weekly in a very NERDY activity. To that I say, you'd better just call me a nerd because I LOVE this hobby of mine....

A few months ago I joined a bowling league with my step-mom and her neighbor. I think we're the youngest ones on the league and we have our own balls and shoes, so maybe that does seem a little nerdy, but I have more fun on Mondays than any other day of the week! I seriously look forward to our weekly games and I can't wait to see if I have improved. We've definitely grown and improved as a team, and the best part is the fun that we have together. I love the feeling I get when we do well, and I love being funny when we're losing!

Well, we've always just said we were just doing it for fun and it didn't matter if we lost, but we found out last week that we were in a 3 way tie for 1st place! Today was our bowl off and I am proud to say that we took 1st place!!! This means that we automatically get to advance to the main finals in May! We were probably a little dumbfounded (seriously, we really aren't all that great) but the competitive nature in us really came out today and we had a blast winning! Thanks, Amy and Andrea for being such great teammates! (Seriously, if we didn't win I was going to consider switching teams......j/k!)

So, Jer, you might think I have a dorky hobby, but I would ask you this....Have you ever taken 1st place in a bowling tournament????? HAHA, Love ya!

Apparently February is going to be a very slow blogging month for me. Either we do nothing fun, or I'm slightly too busy chasing after an almost 2 year old to blog....

I stuck Gav in the bathtub the other day and went to answer the phone. He's at the age where I feel comfortable enough to leave him for a second to get something or answer the phone and that's nice. But....he's really really SNEAKY! I grabbed the phone and turned around to go back and there he is sitting there in all his glory watching Cars. Seriously, hasn't he had enough of this movie????

Remember the lipstick post from a year ago? Yep, that's still the red spot on my carpet!!!! What memories!!!!

Just like dad....

Gavin LOVES Keith. Ha, that's the UNDERSTATMENT of the year! He can't wait to see Daddy when he comes home and everytime Phoebe barks at the door he yells, "Daddy!" and runs for the stairs. (Ok, one day he kept thinking it was Grandpa, but usually it's Dad.)

Yesterday when Keith came home, he and Gav were spending there customary "Guy Time" together and then Gavin walks into the computer room where I was working and this is what I see......

He wants to be like Daddy anyway he can! I'm so thankful for a loving husband who absolutely adores his son.

Gavin is so obsessed with the movie 'Cars' right now. He wakes up and the first thing he says is, "Cars?" He has his favorite little parts like when Lightning jumps over the wreck at the beginning of the movie with his tongue hanging out....Gav always says, "Tongue, funny mama!" He also loves when they are playing the Rascal Flatts 'Life is a Highway' song. I think I have memorized that movie forward and backward and recently discovered a fabulous idea....let Gav watch it on the portable DVD player so mommy hears less of it! He naturally thinks this is a wonderful idea, his own little TV all to himself. Plus he can take it into whatever room I am in. I can't help that I am a little bit glad he likes to watch something. I don't want him to spend his life in front of the TV, but a little break is nice! I once thought he'd never watch anything but ESPN bowling....but that's another post!
